Tue, Jan 05, 2010 - Irving Democrats have some decisions to make

No big surprises here, but the race for Irving's Texas House District 105 seat is already one of the hottest. Democrats are eyeing incumbent Linda Harper-Brown because of her 2008 victory by a mere 19 votes. Before they can challenge Harper-Brown, though, candidates Loretta Haldenwang and Kim Limberg will have to battle each other in the March primary while Harper-Brown and a possible last-minute Libertarian candidate can focus on the November general election. Republicans are confident Harper-Brown will pull out another win. This time by a larger margin since the Democrats don't have Obama at the top of the ticket. And Republicans have eyes on Democratic seats, too. Since the GOP has a narrow lead in the Texas House, you can expect an all-out war for each and every vote.

Closer to home, Democrats also lined up to take on Dallas County Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield and Constable Roma Skinner, both Republicans. Mayfield's District 4 and Skinner's Precinct 4 both cover all of Irving. Among their challengers are, respectively, a former Dallas City Council member and one of Skinner's former deputies.

UPDATE @ 10:30 a.m.: Libertarian candidate Cecil Anthony Ince did file for a spot on the ballot for the Texas House District 105 race.

An actor/writer/comedian and entertainer, Cecil Anthony Ince has preformed in the DFW area and other places through out the mid-west. Cecil Anthony Ince is an entrepreneur who is opening a coffeehouse in Irving March 2010.
